Counting visits
Visits are counted with an analytics provider in the EU: the page you opened, where you came from, your country, your browser and kind of device, and how far down the page you read. No cookies are used. A random visit number sits in your browser's session storage and is gone when you close the tab.
Your choice
Readers in Europe are asked first, and nothing is counted unless they say yes. The ‘Statistics choice’ link at the bottom of each page lets you change that answer.
Hosting
Our hosting provider keeps normal server logs, such as IP addresses and requested pages, for security and maintenance.
